Odd Wedding thoughts

Heya :)

Yup, time for me to get some more Wedding stuff outta my system, so be prepared! LOL! :D Got my cathedral-length Venetian lace edged veil Friday, and WOW! It's BEAUTIFUL! All my friends thought so too. 1 detail down, dozens more to go. Think I'll start hunting around for Shoes this weekend. And those that know me know I've got a UBER Shoe Fetish (giggling) :) May opt for Bridal flip flops so I don't sink into the grass. The Old Mill Restaurant out in Wesminster,MA looks like the winner of where we'll have the shindig.
They only charge you for the food, and you even get a wedding cake included in that. I was there 2 yrs ago when my Fiance's sister had her Rehersal dinner there. Really relaxed atmosphere & 'homey'. My Fiance loves the food & so do I. VERY resonable $$$$ so at least I'll have some $$$ to spend on Flowers, and maybe have some mylar balloons as well. 1 idea I saw online was a Pinata shaped like a wedding cake. Now THAT would be fun! Sure hope we could do that on the grounds of the Old Mill.

Here are some interesting & (to me) somewhat odd things I've heard lately. I don't really want to have a Bridal Registry at some store (online or off). Since *ahem* Good Ole Prez Dufus & his minions have been at 1600 Penn.Ave. times are kinda tough for everyone these days. Why make a list of stuff I really DO NOT need & give it to people who'll just get me the stuff out of "Duty of Tradition"??? Even had 1 female I know say to me (when I told her I wasn't having a Bridal Registry nor Shower) "Well gee - that's the only time you'll be able to get plates & silverware that'll match". Uhmmmmmmmmmm, is it just ME or is that mode of thinking kinda pre-Woman's Lib? In this current world in which we live - where I have come to the conclusion I live in a Facist Police State;Healthcare has become non-existant for MANY people in this country; many hard-working people & whole families in this country go Hungry every night - DOES matching place-settings & silverware REALLY matter???

And get this one - I've been scoping out eBay for a used Wedding Dress. I'm an "Ebay Queen" and over the past year or so I've found some really cool stuff on there. Several gals I know have either said "Don't you want your OWN Dress?" and "Let's hope the bride who wore that used dress has (or had) a happy marriage. Don't want to get Bad Luck from that dress". Huh? Wha? Where DO women get these ideas? And you know what I've been thinking of lately? That I need to get a dress that (1) Is a completely diffrent style than my Fiance's sister's dresses & (2) A dress that reflects the 'true' me & (3) A dress that becomes my economic status. Yup - even I can't believe I'm thinking like this. Looks like Madison Avenue's "Bridal Code" has been bashed into my psyche somewhat. I DO want to look lovely on my weddiny day. I DO want to have it reflect 'the real me" and my sense of style (well, that's IF I have one), and must admit - I DO want to have every female there go "Ohhhhhhhhhhh" and "Ahhhhhhhhhh" at my gown. DAMNIT!! Wish this thinking would stop. I know it's bullshit. As my Fiance said quite rightly & well "Hun, I don't care if we got married at a Bus station. A Reception is just 'extra'".

(Yawn!) It's getting late around here. Everyone in the duplex is sleeping. I'm watching "The Big Chill". 1 of my all-time fave flicks. Been online search sites for a dress of course. Sure hope I can find 1 that'll fit. Just may have 1 custom-made. Don't wanna spend too much. Max would be close to $550.00 (give or take). Not sure if I'll want to preserve it or not. Maybe I'll put it on eBay & help out some other bride going over her limited budget. Good Karma I think would come of that. Not that's the reason why I'd be doing that of course.

Ok, time to turn in. Kinda sorry about all the Wedding talk on here. Until it happens it'll be THE BIGGEST topic in my life. I'm sure Prez Dufus & his evil minions will do something completely inept & inane & EVIL pretty soon. I've got LOTS to rant about those evil BLOODY PUSSY CUNT!!! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!
